The girls from ColoBikeLaw ripped it up on Sunday to win the State Crit Title. Kate Scheider took the win with only 4 inches to spare. I was not able to be there due to the fact that I was delivering my girls to camp. Kimmy, Kate V., Terrie and Alisabeth joined with Kate for a fast and furious race. The attacks kept coming and all the girls drove the pace high. With 2 laps to go, Kate S. attacked off the front and it took a minute for the peloton to respond. By then it was too late and she had a large enough gap to hold them off. GS Boulder did what they could to catch back on, but Kate rode hard and threw her bike over the line for the win! This is what racing is all about.
Great job ladies, it is so cool when the teamwork pays off! 2nd state title with 2 to go. I guess the next one is the State Hill Climb Championship. This basically means, whomever can climb to the top of Mt. Evans (28 miles of climbing to 14,000 ft.) first will win.
